The Write Tools Challenge
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Participation requirements:
To be considered, all individuals that enter submissions must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Lives in the US
- Employed as an educator that teaches or supports the instruction of students in grades 6-12
- Adequately addresses target questions
- Outlines authentic, original ideas to advance assisted writing feedback tools in at least 300 words but not more than 600 words
- Agrees to the Terms and Conditions
- Only one entry per individual
content restrictions
By participating, you warrant and represent that your submission meets the following content restrictions:
- The submission does not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortuous, defamatory, slanderous or libelous
- It does not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age
- It is your original work and has been legally created
- Publication, duplication or distribution of the submission via various media including Web posting, will not infringe on any third-party rights

AWARDS
The first 100 submissions that meet Participation Requirements, adhere to Content Restrictions, and are submitted within the competition Timeline will receive $50 from The Learning Agency Lab. All participants that submit a submission after the first 100 will be eligible for the $3,000 prize but will not be eligible for the initial $50. Individuals can only enter once and are only eligible for one $50 award.
The Learning Agency Lab will review and select finalists. A panel of educators (“Panel”) will select a single winner and award a $3,000 prize.
The Learning Agency Lab and Panel’s decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this Program. The Learning Agency reserves the right not to select a winner if the Program does not receive enough or innovative submissions.

LICENSE & RELEASE
By participating in the Learning Agency Lab’s Write Tools Challenge, you hereby represent and agree as follows:
- You grant the Learning Agency Lab a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, unlimited, nonexclusive license to use, reproduce, create derivative works from, modify, publish, edit, translate, distribute, perform and display (publicly or otherwise) any content and ideas submitted by you in connection with The Write Tools Challenge. This license includes the right to edit, mix, duplicate, use or re-use, sub-license, and distribute your submission.
- In connection with the Learning Agency Lab's use of your idea, you further grant the Learning Agency Lab the right to use any personal information (e.g., first and last name) and employment information (e.g., position) submitted or disclosed by you through The Write Tools Challenge. This grant includes the right to attribute your idea or any portions thereof to you. I understand the use of your Information in this manner may result in the disclosure of your submission to the general public.
- You confirm that any idea given by you is truthful and based on your own experiences.
- You confirm that you have the right to enter into this agreement and that you are not restricted by other commitments. You hereby give all clearances, including copyright and publicity rights, related to the use of your submission by the Learning Agency Lab. You expressly release the Learning Agency Lab, employees, agents, licensees, assigns, designees, and representatives from any and all claims known and unknown arising out of, or in any way connected with, the above granted uses of your submission.
- You waive any and all claims of liability against the Learning Agency Lab for any personal injury or loss which may occur from the conduct of, or participation in The Write Tools Challenge.
